Collecting

I've been collecting theoretical works from the period about the powers of the Kaiser. I'm not ready to use them yet - they're just sitting on my desk. I'm half hoping that I'll divine their contents by osmosis, but at some point I'm going to have to get around to reading them.
At the moment, however, I've begun moving through press reports of royal visits from non-European monarchs, to see what they reveal. There's a nice piece on Siam in Die Gatrenlaube that coincides with Chulalongkorn's visit. I've also got some short pieces on Tamasese from Samoa. Eventually I'll get back to my files from the archive of the foreign office on these visits too.
